Online Equalizer

A free 10-band audio equalizer in your browser. Load a song, shape the sound and compare it with the original.

…or drop a song here. Files stay on your device.
+0 dB
100%

Tip: double-click a slider to reset it. Use the Equalizer button to compare with the original sound. Keep your volume low when boosting bass. Volume boost adds up to +6 dB to quiet files. Loud, modern tracks are already near the digital maximum, so there it adds about +3–4 dB through soft limiting and can add a little distortion.

How to use the online equalizer

  1. Load a song
Choose an audio file or drop it on the box, or play pink noise to test the sliders.
  2. Shape the sound

Online equalizer FAQ

Is the online equalizer free?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and has no limits.

Are my audio files uploaded?

No. The equalizer runs locally in your browser using the Web Audio API. Your files are not sent to any server.

Can I equalize YouTube or Spotify on this page?

No. A web page can only process audio that you load into it. To change the sound of other sites, use the Chrome extension.

Which audio formats can I use?

Any format your browser can play. That usually includes MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A and AAC, and often FLAC.

Why does the volume boost not make loud songs much louder?

Digital audio has a fixed maximum level, and many modern songs are already mastered close to it. The boost can add several dB to quiet files, but on loud tracks it can only add a few dB by softly limiting the peaks. For quiet videos and streams the effect is much bigger.

Why does the sound distort when I boost a lot?

Large boosts push the signal above the maximum level. A built-in soft limiter reduces this, but you will get the cleanest sound by keeping boosts moderate and lowering the volume.

What is pink noise for?

Pink noise contains equal energy in every octave, so the effect of each slider is easy to hear. It is also useful for checking speakers and headphones.
